I’m now seeing the same problem with MKV continuous play. Surely it’s about time this was addressed Plex engineers?
It’s on almost all formats I use. Local and streaming.
Switching to the old player semi fixes this, but leaves videos at 0% remaining (clogging the continue watching) or it will replay the last 10-20sec of a the video before attempting auto play.
Would love an escalation.
same issue here over 2 different appleTV 4k boxes, we have any updates on fix?
@chfredrickson I see you responded to other smaller threads with the same issue in October, can you let us know if this issue is being worked on still, since this is ongoing past the Beta version that was mentioned when this one was created.
just noticed that was also the last time that moderator was online. Adding @Atomatth and maybe they can pass this on to someone else.
Well, it seemed to have improved a little, it’s silent on the fourth item autoplayed, not the second or third. Are the goalposts being moved???
Months later. Still not fixed. Terrible experience.
What’s worse: you have to stop the episode and then when you press play again it plays the first episode in the list instead of the one you were just watching.
I’ve now updated to TVOS 16.3 and Plex client 8.14 on my AppleTV 4K and the playlist worked correctly for the entire night, around 8 hours. I was playing .MKV files and will try with .MP4s. Let’s hope this is now fixed although there was no mention in the release notes for 8.14, just “Resolved performance issues playing HDR content on the Apple 2017 TV 4K”. My playlists are not HDR.

same issue here
is your TV HDR compatible? the media may not be HDR, but the Apple TV may be having the TV think its playing HDR content?
My TV switches to HDR when I use my Apple TV since the 16 beta, no matter the quality of the media being played.
with the new updates to OS/app, I can now use autoplay and retain sound on playback.
@Anqui3tas. Yes, I have HDR compatible TVs. I have Apple TV set to 50Hz SDR with content and frame matching on. This switches the resolution although nothing to do with the sound issue. I also have direct play enabled on the Plex clients. The sound issue has been rock solid since upgrading to 8.14 and I don’t run betas and Plex public releases not PlexPass releases on the server.
Have had the same issue for about four to five months here. I’m now running Jellyfin instead to keep my wife happy, I’ll come back to Plex when it works again.
Seems to be working properly now, about time!!!
Updated my Apple TVs to 16.3.1 and Plex client 8.14 is still running the playlists correctly. Happy days.
