I have two servers, one local, one remote. They were set up with separate accounts. I would like to unite the under one account.
I followed the guide for windows, removed the registry keys, restarted Plex, went to the local page and signed in. Click on the library, claimed it. The remote library (first library for this account) works fine. Newly merged library is inaccessible. It’s listed under the “more” as offline and shows “no soup for you” can’t access this server message.
Both of these servers worked 100% ok prior to changing the account.
Did you use the local web app (http://ip-of-server:32400/web ) for claiming the old server?
Use your browser’s ‘incognito’/‘private’ mode.
Make sure to use a reliable DNS service. If necessary, use 8.8.8.8 (Google) temporarily.
You can also give this app a try. It may spit out some useful diagnostic info: https://github.com/ukdtom/ClaimIt/wiki
I did use the local web app yes.
Just tried it all again but this time after deleting the registry entries and restarting Plex, used that claimit app. No errors, said it worked. Checked and it has created the registry entries as expected.
Opened the local address in an incognito window, was greeted with a login screen… Unexpected… Signed in and it’s the same thing. It shows the local server as offline and says no soup for you.
Have you tried to use the different DNS server?
I have not since this is all done on the same machine as the server, it shouldn’t need a dns server I would think.
I just tried changing the dns in the network settings on the machine, didn’t help (do I need to restart anything? Do this all over again?) I may have to wait until I’m home again and change the dns on the router itself.
ok so tried changing the dns on the server machine and the router. redid the whole process. same result. no soup for me.
… it seems like despite being on the local app page for the local machine it’s acting like i’m accessing the remote server… all the settings and directories and options… they way things are presented make it seem like I’m on the other server and not the local one despite being at 127.0.0.1:32400
I was going to just re add the media folders but I can’t
