No soup for you!

Server Version#: 1.18.5.2039-f5213a238
Player Version#: don’t know

I am confused as I always receive:

“No soup for you!
The server you’re trying to access doesn’t want to let you in. Make sure you’re signed in as a user within access to this server.”

Here is what I did:

  1. Installed Plex Media Server manually on Synology NAS DS1618+. Installation file was downloaded from Plex web site wehre I selected Linux.

  2. Confusion - on the download page the version is 1.19.4.2935-79e214ead June 11, 2020, however Synology NAS show different version (see above).

  3. Started Plex Media server from Package Center - Installed - Plex Media Server - Open.

  4. Web browser Google chrome opened, account created, signed in with the activated account (success).

  5. Clicked the button “Launch”, https://app.plex.tv/desktop interface opened.

  6. Sometimes +Your Media link is pinned to the left sidebar, sometimes it is not - big confusion (why ?).

  7. If +Your Media link is found on the sidebar, no media can be added at all.

  8. Checked if Plex Media Server is listed in the Authorized Devices - NOTHING FOUND (biggest confusion - why?)

RESUME: I am not able to add Plex media Server to https://app.plex.tv/desktop, nor can I add my media files. System unusable.

The same behavior appeared on Ubuntu Server 16.04.6 LTS where another installation of mine is running.

Could you help, please?

Hi trumpy81,

I do very appreciate your qualified reply. Following your instructions step-by-step I succeeded this time and everything went smoothly. Now my Plex Media Server on Synology NAS is available on the network. I do hope I will succeed with Plex Media Server running in Ubuntu Server, either.

Many thanks again and

best regards.

Hi trumpy81,

All went OK Ubuntu Server, as well. You helped me a lot and I wish to express my best thanks to you again.
