Well folks, looks like this is pretty much fixed for me. I installed the new 8.30 version on my Fire Sick 4k and the actor images are back with the only exception being for “missing” images (not to be confused with actors where no image is available). In cases where the image should be there but it’s missing I’m getting a circle with a capital “N” in it, even if the actor’s name does not start with N. I suspect what it is doing is using the generic user icon for my Plex account (since my username starts with “n”). But again this is only in cases where the is no picture for an actor but the client is expecting one. On previous versions of just get a blank circle iirc.

And… this fixes profile images but breaks subtitles. PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD TEST YOUR GARBAGE BEFORE YOU KICK IT OUT THE DOOR

Oh? Is that still going on [the issue with the Hisense TV randomly stopping loading image assets that you replied on] even with the 9.0.x clients? I honestly don’t know, I’m still using 8.25.1 on the TV.

After the original no-actor-images thing got fixed the thing with the missing ones showing up as “N” started. So I figured I would wait until that was fixed as well to update the TV’s client, but then I noticed the issue with changing tabs on the library view causing the wrong library to load. That has been fixed now, but the ‘N’ thing is still there on the Android client, and I’ve come across an issue where the skip-back action causes the whole thing to hang up on the newest clients when I’m watching transcoded content.

It’s literally one issue after another now, so I don’t want to update the TV since that is used by other family members.

It’s fixed for me and didn’t notice any problem since their update fix, even we got long time clicking of actors ability which is really nice. However, I didn’t notice “N” issue earlier until I checked your post.

There was slight UI issue I noticed too, the white border around posters are flickering for a second or two. If you want to test and post feedback here is the thread: [Bug] White border around posters are flickering
