I can’t seem to get the new app to work with Kinect. For example On the old app I could say ‘Xbox go to plex’ then ‘movies’.
Is this no longer a feature? It seems odd that alexa support has been added but this taken away.
That’s probably not Plex. As if the October 16 Xbox one update “Xbox select” isn’t a thing. And Cortana doesn’t think voice commands work in Plex.
Yes I have this Issue as well On multiple Xbox’s. i have contacted Microsoft and they “say” they have NOT removed Select Command. I am curious to hear from plex support.
I’m experiencing the same thing since the new dashboard update. Quite annoying actually, usually when using Plex I use my voice the entire time. I’m still using the “old” Xbox commands rather than Cortana. Every time I try “Xbox, select” it thinks I said “Xbox go back” now.
The ‘Xbox Select’ voice command feature was part of a voice interface called Voice User Interface (VUI). VUI is deprecated and no longer available to new apps but is still available in legacy apps. We’re looking at integrating Cortana in the future but it won’t be like the old VUI system.
Thats Fine, I see you interated Alexa with this update. Switching to echo this weekend. All you need is logitech harmony hub, and echo dot, and xbox is yours again
