Nonexistant duplicate movie with no option to delete

This issue exists on my server.

Windows - Latest version of PLEX

I had two of the same movie, I deleted the older rip and my server is still showing a duplicate as though the movie I deleted was still there.

I’ve cleaned bundles, restarted the server, fix match, but its still there and theres no option to delete it.

Any idea?

Does the movie still, or have a ‘Blue 2’ on it’s poster?

When you go to the Movie Pre-Play Screen and open ‘The Dots’ (upper right), then open ‘Get Info’ - how many paths/movies are shown - if two, are they in fact, the same movie - or is it perhaps a mismatch of one of them and a Merge?

I have some Merged Duplicates - on purpose (Filter for Duplicates and see them all):

But sometimes I get a Mis-match Merge - then have to ‘Split’, then Fix Match on the wrong one, then change it’s poster to the real one (if necessary - mostly always necessary).

There’s a blue 2 on the file, but they are not the same movie and show different paths. One of the paths is invalid since the file has been deleted.

That requires a deeper exploration:

Otto is equipped for the journey - I am not.

Have you done the full Plex Dance? Based on your description I think not. All steps in order although you will not have to remove and return the deleted file. You might want to remove the remaining file so the dance clears everything about the movie, and then return it. The dance is effective I’ve found.

It does require precise and exacting delivery - otherwise it simply won’t work.

Please inspect the item’s mediainfo. Like the screenshot which @JuiceWSA has posted above.

Then inspect the properties of your movie library.
Edit your library,
go to the ‘Add Folders’ tab and look at the folder path(s) in there.

Is the missing file outside of the path(s) referenced in there?
Or was this file the last one within this folder, so that the library is now looking at a completely empty folder?

OK, so the “PLEX dance” worked. I removed the “actual copy” of the file, rescanned, cleaned bundles, emptied trash… file is gone. Thanks for the advice.
