Hi!
I’m having trouble setting up a plex media server and accessing it. I have searched around for hours now and can’t seem to find a solution.
So, I saw this youtube-clip by NetworkChuck and got exited to do the same with my raspberry pi. I followed the instructions there, which started with installing and setting up OMV. This worked flawlessly and I have access to the pi as a NAS.
I procceded in the terminal to install apt-transport-https with zero issues, then added the repositories and ran update. Last I installed plexmediaserver and here again, zero issues.
Then I checked if the server was running and it was. I opened my browser (chrome) and entered NAS.IP.Add.ress:32400/web, where it first showed I did not have access. If I tried again I could login but it seemed like it shoved me to plex.tv, as I could not see the server. In the authorized devices it showed that I had accessed the account from a browser not the plexmediaserver.
I researched and found that I could tunnel using ssh pi@NAS.IP.Add.ress -L 8888:localhost:32400 from my windows command line. After this I could open the browser and go to localhost:8888/web and now it opened the setup wizard. I ran through the wizard and set up a library and all the movies in the library from OMV showed up.
Now I tried once again to access the server directly through NAS.IP.Add.ress:32400/web and just like before, it seems to just direct me to plex.tv.
I have search if there is network problems such as if the two computers were in different subnets, which my router isn’t capable of doing. My assumption was that there were no network problems.
Now I don’t know where to continue troubleshooting.
ps. Yes, I have tried rebooting and reinstalling plexmediaserver.
Thank you in advance!
