Cannot connect to Plex server after I updated my password

Server Version#:1.42.1.10060-4e8b05daf
Player Version#:1.110.0.351-4e48eb83
<If providing server logs please do NOT turn on verbose logging, only debug logging should be enabled>

Hi, I got an e-mail stating that some 3rd party was signing in and to change my password. I did so and followed the instructions. After wards it asked to change servers. I had 3, but picked the first one. I am able to sign-in, however, it gives me this exact error: “This server is currently not accessible, are you sure you want to select it?”

I did so anyways and now I cannot see my movies or anything for that matter. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling from my desktop and when i sign in, it still won’t let me see my server. How can i correct this? Not sure how this can easily undo what I did these last 3 years and the files are still intact. I can get to my files on my Synology NAS, but I just can’t get Plex to cooperate. If someone can help in detail. Tell me like a 5 year old, because I’ve tried the best of my knowledge (which isn’t much apparently). I still cannot understand why customers cannot call Plex directly, but this will have to do for now. Thank you all in advance.

OMG. Thank you so much OttoKerner. I didn’t even think to uninstall from the Synology server itself and reclaim the token and reinstall. Can you explain why it did this after just needing a password update though? It just seemed awfully strange, when it should stay the same. Either way, I have something else to try next time it happens.

Changing a Plex account password unclaims any servers on that account.

For NAS running DSM 7, the process in FAQ 31 is an easy way to reclaim the Plex server. If you can access DSM and plex.tv/claim, you can re-claim the server.

You should be able to re-claim the server by pointing a web browser at its IP address, http://nas_ip_address:32400/web. However, the process can sometimes fail due to browser plug-ins or settings or for other reasons.

Basically, FAQ 31 is a reliable, easy, and fast way to re-claim the Plex server. It is generally not affected by browser plug-ins, etc. If it fails, it provides failure messages which claiming by http://… does not.
