Not sure what the problem is, I moved homes and finally got ready to watch some stuff again.
Got the Plex app on my Nvidia Shield in one room and Chromecast with google TV (4K) in another room. I suppose I have not set my Plex server up correctly as these should be able to access it through a LAN connection? but they do not have access to my Server..
Wanted to test from work, but Remote access does not work there, when accessing from https://App.plex.tv/desktop
But if I go through https:[externalIP]//:32400/web ; then it works.
So I am not sure why its not working?
I recently purchased a Ubiquiti Unifi cloud Gateway Fiber (UCG-Fiber) but it worked fine in my old home with the same Gateway.
ISP is the same, not CG-NAT
I have revoked the certificate of your server, which was stuck while being renewed.
Please stop and restart your server.
Just about to mention that I found in the “Plex Media Server.log”:
ERROR - CERT: Error acquiring new certificate: Failed to upload CSR: 429
Restarted the Plex Service.
Now it works from https://app.plex.tv/desktop/
Thanks!
Should I bother doing anything else in terms of devices in my house (LAN) is connecting via a WAN connection, or was it not working as LAN either because of the cert?
An invalid cert affects all encrypted communication between server and clients. No difference between local and remote.
I’m seeing this line in the logs
Dec 03, 2025 14:38:32.668 [1756] WARN - [CERT/OCSP] getCertInfo failed; skipping stapling
But I don’t seem to have any problems. Has this anything to do with the stuck certs?
Thanks!
There is no stuck certificate in your server.
Did you perhaps add your own cert into the Plex server configuration? Or perhaps a custom domain name? Is there a Proxy server in use?
No. Nothing like that. No custom domain name, proxy, etc.. Just a standard Plex install.
Everything is working fine. So all good.
