Not Authorized--Can't access server after password change and reclaiming

Server Version#:1.29.0.5224ac-819d3678c-86_64
Player Version#: Plex Web 4.87.2

Something “broke” in my Plex Media Server and I lost connection. Tried to reclaim the server but only “Plex” is showing.

After resetting the Plex password the server shows back up. After reclaiming it immediatley locks me out and says 'Not Authorized. You do not have access to the server."

I’ve rolled back to a previous PMS version that was working but can’t get past this issue.

Sorry, buddy, but I’m in the same boat and getting no help either.

Try this procedure: You need to reclaim your server, but don't dare to touch the Windows Registry
Additionally, go into your Plex data folder, into the subfolder Cache and delete the file cert-v2.p12.

Make sure that your home network is using an IP range that is explicitly assigned to “private” use. Private network - Wikipedia

Take care of a misfiring “DNS rebinding protection” in your local DNS resolver/router https://support.plex.tv/articles/206225077-how-to-use-secure-server-connections#toc-4

Thanks TomK—I should update this post that I uninstalled and cleared out the Plex Server and reinstalled the previous release. It seems to be good for now.

Since early status is In the cloud with our accounts now, at least that restored.

But I lost all the custom meta data on some exercise videos I ripped. Not a major issue though.

Thanks @OttoKerner! I missed the suggestion elsewhere to delete the certificate file. I’ll keep that in mind in case it reoccurs.

After rebuilding the Plex server database I had this error recur. I am now suspecting some issues with the DNS filters on the router to limit adds and bad content from my kids.

Check the date/time on all devices involved. (Including timezone setting) Enable NTP client(s).
Secure connections work with time stamps. If they’re wrong, data packets are dumped as invalid.

Appreciate the help and suggestions! I reset the DSN server back to my ISP and was able to claim the server. I’ll continue to play with this to see if there is a DNS filtering server that works.
