I’ve been using Plex for 2 years now and have never run into this issue. I just installed the new router a couple weeks ago. I will list the things I have tried. None have worked.
The router has UPnP and it is enabled. I have tried shutting both server and router down in order for UPnP to pick up the plex. The server has a static IP. I have tried to sign TCP for port forwarding. I manually specified the port.
I’ve added the TCP rule to the firewall on the server.
I dont know what else to do in order for it to work. Has anyone ran into this and can they help?
Under Advanced click on Port Forwarding Rules. Click Add at the bottom and in the Service Name/Description you can put Plex. Then click Add Server Ports, select TCP from the dropdown in Protocol. Source Port ANY, Destination Port 32400. Click Apply, then click Apply again at the next screen.
Now go to Firewall from the top menu, click on Port Forwarding on the left menu. Under “Create new port forwarding rule” select the address of your Plex server and the Plex application you created from the earlier steps. Now click on Add.
Your Port Forwarding section should look like this now:
@outspoken . I followed your guide and it worked perfectly for a night. When I go to plex server settings it says disconnected. I reconnected it and it worked fine again for about 2 hours. Then disconnected. So now I’m stuck in this reconnecting cycle. Any thoughts? Reinstall Plex?
When I try what you say on my Fios Quantum G1100 I get this when I click ADD: |Error: Please select the IP Address you want to forward to, or select an already connected item from the list|
|Error: Please select a pre-configured application or choose the option Custom ports to create a new application for port forwarding|
???
I go back and do the drop down on the select 1p from Menu I do not know what one to choose. I figured it would be the name of my server? But that’s not working. I do not see PLEX in there - Next to this is a drop down that says Application to forward - I have no idea there either…but I need to figure out the first IP issue.
I cannot find any indication that there is a way to enable or disable UpnP on this model of router. # G 1100
Any help please. I know this is an old thread. But I am so lost, This USED to work when I would share my Plex with others but it stopped Also Plex says it is fully accessible outside my network. I went to two people’s homes I shered with and I cannot get the PLex App to show my server on their Roku or their Fire TV apps.
