Not picking up some content and misnaming/labeling others

I’ve been setting up my Plex the last few days but I’m starting to run into issues with my TV Show content. Everything is named correctly using the sXXeXX format.

Some of my shows however are not getting the OVAs (which have all been renamed to s00e01-XX and other shows are splitting my seasons into 2 even though all the episodes are labelled s02e01-XX and are in a Season 02 folder! The really weird part is that the episodes in the correct season are titled in Spanish for some reason.

I’ve been loving the Plex experience and this certainly isn’t a make or break for me but god is it annoying.

Any thoughts or advice on how to deal with this or is it something I’m stuck with?

What’s the full filename? Do you have the name of the show in the filename or just the sXXeYY?

I have kind of a mix right now. For the OVAs I’m missing they don’t have names or at least if they do I can’t find them online.

Here’s what it ranges from in the problem areas.

I’ve tried refreshing the meta data, renaming the folders and files but nothing seems to work.

Also, I went back and tried adding all the “recommended” details from Plex and there was no change.

That can lead to the problem you are seeing.

That looks correct.

Are your files MP4? If so, they ma have a different name in the embedded title field. If you’ve set PMS to use this, then renaming the file won’t matter, it will just use this embedded title.

Also, renaming files doesn’t change what PMS thinks it is. You need to perform the Plex Dance on these files.
