Nothing is synced to this device

I’ve been trying to get sync working for a long time. I’ve tried on several different Android devices as well as iOS. I’ve cleared synced content from all devices. The Web interface shows ‘Nothing is synced to this device’ even after I queue something to sync. Doesn’t matter if I do it via the web interface or from a mobile device. I’ve watched the logs…lots of garbage collection and updating related to sync, no errors I can parse. I don’t want to be just another person complaining about sync, but gah!

It would be great if there was documentation on how to troubleshoot this. Steps to try, messages to look for, a sync log without grep -i ‘sync’ on the general log. I believe I have the latest everything that I can get with the paid subscription. Please help.

Perhaps this helps. I did the unthinkable, restarted my Linux server. Sync began working immediately afterward. Restarting the service hadn’t helped, many upgrades of Plex hadn’t either. Are there other services I missed when restarting plexmediaserver service? Happy things are working now, though uncomfortable with the resolution.
