Nvidia Graphics Card not used / Transcoder / QNAP TVS-472XT

Hi,
I use a QNAP TVS-472XT with QuTS hero h4.5.4.1971, i5-8400 and a Nvidia 1050 TI which is part of the compatible list of QNAP and the respective device. Nvidia Driver (latest available version from 27.03.22) and QTS Mode for the graphics card is enabled. The PlexMediaServer has “hardware transcoding enabled if available” in its settings (as described here). Nevertheless, if I try to force transcoding a video file (480p) coming from 1080p or 4k, I do not get any activity on the graphics cards, but the CPU goes up to 95% usage. The dashboard shows no “hw” in details when looking at the stream.

How can I make use of the graphics cards? Is there something to be considered?

Hi, I meanwhile solved the topic…

In fact it is necessary to tell PlexMediaServer that not the onboard GPU from Intel should be used but the graphicscard. To do this please follow the video from QNAP UK:

I used Windows and Putty to make use of SSH.

Please be aware that only the admin account is able to log in. Not an admin-like account.
