Nvidia Shield issues

Server Version#:4
Player Version#:4
I need help- plex was able to see the USB connected external drive I had attached to my Nvidia Shield, but after an update, it won’t see it. I’ve updated everything, cleared the cache, etc, but can’t get it to connect. Any ideas?

have you tried something like X-plore file manager or File Manager to see if the drive if the Shield is seeing the drive?

I managed to get it connected via my Mac and a networked drive, but I have to manually reconnect the drive every time to actually watch movies. I downloaded xplore and can see the path, but I am unsure how to connect it always on the NVIDIA Server. Any ideas?

I always thought that the usb drive would be seen straight away on boot by the shield, I have an SSD attached to my shield that I use for the Plex library and to store apps on to. When I start my shield up it says usb drive connected about 20 seconds after shield boot.

My Plex media library is on a NAS drive, so I map to the media files over a share.

if you reboot the shield do you see usb connected message at startup?

or is it just the path in the plex server that is incorrect? has the drivebeen moved between usb ports?

also (if you haven’t already) If you need to send data to the drive whilst it is connected to the shield then you could enable shared folders:

I finally got it to work, using the direct link to the path to the Nvidia external storage “/storage/xxxx-xxxx/TV Shows”, BUT, I am still unable to enable remote access. Sigh.
