Ive noticed a persistent issue where at the end of a movie, i do not believe my client is ending the stream properly
I have my settings configured to terminate a stream after being paused for 15mins.
At the end of the stream, after the allotted time i receive a message that the stream has been paused too long. I can only assume that the default behavior for Plex is to pause the stream before terminating it. I believe the pause is happening and the termination is not
Same here on most of my TV. Just posted this to the Shield Forum:
Hi, I keep getting an error when I allow a show to play all the way to the end. Instead of exiting back to the home screen I’m getting Error: Playback has been paused for too long. And since it’s an error the screen saver never kicks in (honestly I see a lot of times when the screen saver doesn’t kick in correctly but alas… anyone experience this issue as well and or have any idea how to fix? Fairly new to the shield pro 2019 still. Thanks!
I disabled the enhanced video player on mine and haven’t seen the issue come back yet. Maybe try that and report back? This still needs to be acknowledged by Plex as a bug
Confirmed issue 2x after video finishes playing by itself. Note I do not have play next automatically enabled. Screen saver also doesn’t trigger. At one hour mark the paused too long error presents.
Went back to legacy player and confirmed twice on same episode that screen saver automatically kicked in at the preset 5 min mark. My assumption is that the error will also not happen but I don’t have another hour tonight. ;}
Definitely a bug. I saw other posters discuss bugs about the stream not ending but that was on an old version. Wonder if the shield or plex update introduced a regression…
