Server Version#:1.18.8.2468
Player Version#:7.29.0.15876
For the past couple of weeks all content when played on our NVIDIA Shield Pro just stops after 15 minutes. Ive tried changing server settings even disabling remote connections to trouble shoot and nothing. I have even replaced the cat6 cable with a gold plated cat7 and same today.
I see there was a similar issue in 2018 in the forums but cant seem to get it fixed. Is anyone else having this issue or can I get some advice on what to try please.
No other players are affected.
so removing updates on the Shield fixed it, so its definitely a client issue
I had a similar issue on NVIDIA Shield (not Pro) - mine stopped playback at about 30 minutes.
For me I could fix the problem by changing a server setting:
Network/Cancel paused sessions after x minutes
(I’m using the german version, so this is only a rough translation of what the menu should look like)
I set the value to 0 fixing my problem completely. Before everything has worked perfectly fine in the same setup. It seems that the client doesn’t report back correctly any more.

Mine does the same after approximately an hour regardless of the content.
I have not seen that setting mentioned my @MarcWinter1 above, will look!
Bingo! Found it and mine is set to 60 minutes. I wonder why Plex thinks my stream is paused:
Thank you thank you thank you!
Tried the uninstall updates and that worked, but of course the app kept updating itself!
Checked the pause and it was 10 minutes, set it to 0 and have had no issues for the past week regardless if im playing a 4k movie or normal HD. Life saver!
I left it empty, not zero, and this may or may not be treated differently. It works “for me”.
The underlying problem of why the server thinks the player is paused is the root cause and another issue.
Go into settings and turn off the new player. That should fix the issue. It worked for me.
The old player will be going away, so that’s not going to be an option in the future. This issue was resolved in v7.30
