Nvidia Shield, playback position, watched status, etc

So this is a weird bug that’s only recently materialized.

I have an Nvidia Shield Pro (2019), recently acquired and all working nicely with the old player (new version giving me some grief, but that’s another story!)

If I navigate the build-in Plex Android TV app with the Shield remote and play a movie, TV Show, whatever, Plex will remember position, playback status, etc.
Likewise if I cast from my Android phone to the CHROMECAST client on the Shield, it will also remember position, status, etc.

However, if I cast from my Android phone to the Android TV Plex client, it will NOT remember position or playback status.

Very very strange, and something I’ve only noticed in the last couple of days.

Anyone seen this? Any ideas on a fix?
