Nvidia shield resolution switching and 4:3 SD content

Hi, sorry if this is in the wrong section. I’m new to the forums.

I seem to have come across a problem with 4:3 content in 480p when using resolution switching on the nvidia shield tv pro (2019)

4:3 content isn’t displayed correctly and stretches out the video across 16:9 but slightly zoomed out. Disabling resolution switching fixed it, but now I’m faced with upscaling issues.

This issue started straight after upgrading the shield experience to the latest version.

Server Version#: 1.20.1.3252
Player Version#: 8.5.2.20133

It happens with the 2015/2017 models as well.

It appears the latest update from Nvidia and Plex don’t play nice with each other.
