I have a TV series that shows the episodes correctly when viewing through Plex on a Windows PC but has one wrong when viewing Plex on the Nvidia Shield. The Windows interface has the correct number of shows and everything is named properly and plays fine. When I go to play the episode on the TV from the Shield it plays one of the specials instead and is completely missing this one show. Why the difference between the two interfaces and how do you fix it?
Specials can appear to function somewhat odd because shows go into the continue watching by date, not the episode number
For example, if you have a season with 10 shows and there’s a special that aired before s03e01 it will play the special first in the continue watching instead of the first show of that season
Why you’re seeing two different things in each app may only be solved if you give a specific example
For example, I can see Season 1 E2 of Black Mirror called “Fifteen Million Merits” displayed and playing properly from the Windows interface. Trying to play the same show from my iPhone or Shield Plex results in a special episode called Bandersnatch being played instead.
How do you have those specials organized? Are they in a Season 00 or Specials folder?
Or do you have them along side the regular season episodes as “extras”
Something sounds off because according to the dates Bandersnatch s00e02 should play “by date” in-between seasons 4 and 5
Certain clients do not support “extras” if that’s the way you have things organized
