We use our NVidia Shield as a home Plex server and it works great! However we have 150Mbit internet. In the summer we take it out to a cabin and in an RV. In both situations, the Shield wants internet in order to access the local content. Does anyone know how to get around this?
I often will start a video by creating a wifi hotspot with my iPhone for it to figure itself out, but lately even that doesn’t work.
The Shield will boot and run fine, but the Plex Media Server itself will not start running. Hence the Plex app cannot find the server and thus it doesn’t work. Note that I am not connecting to the PMS from another device. I am connected directly to a television using HMDI. So the Shield is the only unit involve here.
Has anyone found a way to make this work?
