PLEX, Plex, Plex… This has been going on for 8 MONTHS NOW. When will you get this issue resolved? I’m now paying for a subscription to Spotify just so I can make AND USE playlists. Come on, get with it!
It’s getting a bit ridiculous that something as basic and frequently used as a playlist still doesn’t work.
I originally had this issue and would revert my version of Plex to bring it back. This presented me with two issues. The bugs that were on that version would never been fixed and I would miss out on new features.
I’ve spent a lot of time of late playing around with Plexamp. I know everyone want’s a single app for Plex but I like the idea of having one for visual and one for audio. Plexamp is outstanding in audio playback and supports all the playlists offline. I guess in the future they will integrate all features into a single app.
But for now, I can’t see the playlist issue being resolved as it’s not a priority as there is brilliant workaround.
Plus Plexamp supports continuous playback which for any dance or electronic albums is a must have in my opion.
I’m also waiting/hoping for a fix to this. Guessing that Plex’s focus is now on “Free Music and TV” as (their subtitle to their apps), and isn’t concerned with their original customer base.
Plex… 10 months now. Get with it.
appears to be working using the new download feature – though that’s not yet available for iOS; at least something to look forward to.
Still no fix. Ugh.
The new downloads feature is now also available for Plex on iOS (requires version 7.21) – you can enable the new feature from within the app under Settings
> Downloads
> Enable new "downloads"

I’ve just downloaded my Recently Added
(smart) playlist (nothing else for now). This will show all the songs from that playlist in the recommended
and library
tabs – but it’ll also show the downloaded playlist in the playlists
tab of the download section.
Try it out…
