On Deck and Continue Watching - Home Users

Server Version#: Version 1.14.1.5488
Player Version#: All platforms (Fire Stick, Browser - Egde on Windows 10, Safari on MacOS, iOS - iPhone V. 5.9.1, etc…)

I created Home Users for my daughter and wife. If they go watch something with their user they dont get the “on deck” or “continue watching” on their home screen. If we use the Admin User he Shows the Options also from the home users… Cant find any wrong Setting in Plex Server and couldnt find anything similar to my Problem on the Forum (mostly Problems which occured through Add-ins and whatnot). I would be happy to provide LOGS if These would be needed.

Thanks for your help

This may sound silly but “on deck” will list the next episode(if any). If there is none the series will not be displayed. The “continue watching” for movies will only pop up if you stopped in the middle of the movie.

Adding to the above, the behavior of “on deck” has changed to display episodes that have not been watched but only if you have history of watching. So when you created new users, they have no history of watching a show, once they watch one, new episodes will appear.

This is in contrast to the previous behavior where anything new added would display. People complained that if a lot of media was added they couldn’t find what they were looking for or had to scroll a lot.

She was watching a series. Tryed stopping in the middle and tunring the device off and on. Didnt see either “on Deck” or “continue watching”.

Continue Watching works for Movies and for Series, because I tryed it with a series…

Thank you both for your reply.

corrupt database, maybe?

Would be strange, beceause it does work on one user.
The only thing which comes to mind is: I started using Plex as a free Software and upgraded later to Premium… Can it be that this is the problem and I have to build the server from scratch? I already reinstalled the software…
