On Deck - Content Unavailable

I reset customization on my web player and things went back to normal.

Interesting… Thought this was something I’d done. Web works fine on the work PC, but won’t load the home screen hubs for my stuff on the home PC. Scrolling down shows the Plex provided content fine. A biggo blank for my stuff.

is this the local or hosted web app? Or do you mean the desktop app.

https://app.plex.tv/desktop# in both cases.

The home PC is running on a VPN, if that matters? Not the same PC as hosts PMS.

I don’t think that would matter.

Totally functional now. Goofy.

Neither of the last two server updates have fixed the no “on Deck” problem.

Versions 1.20.2.3370 and 1.20.2.3402 both have (Hubs) Some hubs could go missing when upgrading to 1.20.2
in the upgrade notes. I assumed this was a potential fix…

On deck still has a row of blank rectangles, with the retry and what’s this links, that do nothing.

Is “On Deck” now not supposed to be on the home screen, or is the problem still unresolved?

That fixed the Android app and we were hoping it fixed the Web app but the web app is behaving weirdly. Web app seems to be working fine for me now ( I’m on 1.20.2.3370) but was not for a couple days. I only had the issue when I only had one partially watched thing in On Deck, still trying to figure out why some like yourself still having issues with it.

I was curious if there is any difference if you open it in an incognito/private window

I just updated to Version 1.20.2.3402 and I am now experiencing this issue. When I open my Plex server the home screen is blank and I get the same “RESET CUSTOMIZATION” message. Is there a fix coming for this?

No difference if you open in an an incognito/private window.

upgraded to server Version 1.20.3.3401 recently.

Even if you try to use custom home screen hubs, there is no option to enable an “On Deck” for TV shows from the server. There is an option for On Deck for content provided by Plex (TV, Podcasts, etc)

As I mentioned previously, the Roku app has an “On Deck” hub. It is the only app that does. Neither the mobile app for Android phones, or the Android TV app has an On Deck, and it’s not available as an option to add as a hub manually.

I am in 1.20.3.3437 with and the “On Deck” issue persists

Still “On deck” - less with server Version 1.20.4.3508.

Never got an answer… has On deck been permanently removed from the Plex home screen?

same issue here, on deck completely gone now too

I performed a “reset customization”, re-added On Deck to Home from TV Shows, and performed a “Scan Library Files”. At some point after waiting about 15min it seemed to just be working again. So weird.

PMS: 1.20.4.3517
Web Client: 4.45.0

@BigWheel – I managed to get “On Deck” back onto all of my devices/apps. I’ll try to explain the glitch.

If the series/episodes that are partially watched in “Continue Watching” are exactly equal to the series/episodes that should show up in “On Deck,” an error occurs that brings up the “Content Unavailable” I showed in the original post.

To put it another way, if I have three partially watched TV episodes, and do not have a series where there is another episode that is completely unwatched, the error occurs. Marking an episode as completely watched to force a new On Deck item, or watching a few minutes of a movie so that it will show up in Continue Watching seems to reset On Deck so that everything works as it should.

I know my explanation is poor, but I can replicate it to force the error. Steps to reproduce error:

  • Make sure nothing is “On Deck” or “Continue Watching”
  • Partially watch 2 episodes from 2 different TV series
  • The On Deck error shows on the home page
  • Partially watch a movie so that Continue Watching and On Deck are different
  • On Deck returns to it’s usual state.

thanks I will add that to the bug report.

I guess another way to put it is, if you don’t have a completely unwatched episode in the “On Deck” queue (that is, you have at least one episode in a series that has been bumped up, because you watched the previous episode) “On Deck” malfunctions. Sorry - just trying to explain how the bug works (at least for me) and the proper description doesn’t come to mind easily. :slightly_frowning_face:

I think I understand. I just need to get my episodes in that state to reproduce

I just encountered the same issue on 1.20.5.3600. I can confirm leelynd’s observation of the conditions needed for the error to occur. Having only partially watched episodes on deck triggers it.

Same issue in Plex Web with server v1.21.0.3711
