On Deck - Content Unavailable

Yep also confirmed - I’m seeing it on my account when accessing from the web app on any computer, as well as on the windows computer the server is running off of by using the 127.0.0.1 local address. I share with roughly 25 other users that seem to be having the issue as well.

I also noticed that I’m running Version 1.21.0.3616 - and it appears to be failing to check for updates - not sure if that last part is related but logs uploaded anyway.

Also having this issue.
Plex Web Version 4.49.2
Plex Server Version 1.21.1.3795

Plex updated to Version 1.21.1.3830 - and the issue seems to have resolved. Not sure if it was the update that fixed but in either case I no longer have this issue.

I know my explanation is poor, but I can replicate it to force the error. Steps to reproduce error:

  • Make sure nothing is “On Deck” or “Continue Watching”
  • Partially watch 2 episodes from 2 different TV series
  • The On Deck error shows on the home page
  • Partially watch a movie so that Continue Watching and On Deck are different
  • On Deck returns to it’s usual state.

This actually fixed it for me. Thanks leelynds!!

I’m on Plex version 1.25.0.1511-47afccd4
And Plex Media Server version: 1.21.1.3830-6c22540d5

Cool, thanks you!
This workaround indeed fixed it for me too.

PS: I’m using Plex Web Version 4.47.3 and PMS Version 1.21.1.3876

i finally figured out what my issue was with this. it had to do with manually managing the home screen vs. letting plex do it. as soon as i reset the customization and had plex automatically customize my home screen, everything went back to normal, but if i switch back to manually mode i have the on deck issue.

This is still an issue with the latest versions. The workaround still works.

I’m finding I’m having this issue again with web player version
Version 4.51.1

If it’s like the bug I reported earlier, and it looks like it, it’s because your On Deck exactly equals your Continue Watching. I don’t know if they ever fixed the bug but it looks like it’s still on the “to-do” list.

I fixed by starting a movie, letting it run for a few minutes, and stopping it so both hubs didn’t contain the same content. Since movies don’t have an “On Deck” for the next episode, On Deck doesn’t equal Continue Watching, and the hub loaded properly. It won’t work if you just start another episode of another TV show, because both hubs will be equal again… if that makes sense.

If you completely watch an episode of another series, but don’t let plex start the next episode, it works too. Again, because now you (should) have two on Deck items, and one Continue Watching item.

Sorry, that’s the best way I can explain it.

Think I understand what you mean.
Interestingly, I just set my homepage layout to automatic, then back to manual, and it seems to have had the same effect of getting it back to how it should be.

Hopefully they can fix this one!

I’ve been looking for a workaround for this issue for months. Thanks!
Hope they fix it soon.
