On Synology Plex App, Cannot see folders under top volume when trying to add media folder

Guessing I have a share folder and/or permission issue problem of my own making. I recently installed (from Synology apps not directly from Plex) the plex app. I have gone through the very helpful Installation & Setup of Plex Media Server on Synology Right now cannot get any folders underneath my primary volume to show up. I did locate the Plex share folder and change the permission on plex to R/O, stopped the app, and restarted but no change in folder visibility. I did not create any additional shares as part of installation. Besides the video, photo, music shares of Synology, there is the Plex share and my SynDS918vol1 share. In a folder under SynDS918vol1 is have my Music Library Folder, my Video Library Folder and my Photo Library Photo. Because I already have them with my content and because the installation created the Plex on its own, I did not create any other shares. Problem: When I add a folder and browse - I get to volume1 and then SyDS918vol1 but see nothing nested in there. It definitely seems like a Linux permission issue from reading your forums but I cannot see the error. Hoping for some help.

Thanks you. I removed all the permissions and reset them as you suggested and I believe all the files are being located. Thanks. I had seen the warning to not use the Synology default photo, video and music files and I think I had avoided that pitfall.
