I added a show that has three seasons. The folder structure is Show/season x/show.10x.mkv. All three seasons are named in the same way, but only season 2 and season 3 are recognized by PMS. I didn’t see any errors on the Console when I added the files. Am I missing something? I’ve been naming shows in this format for quite some time now and haven’t had any problems. Thank you.

Should be:
Show (Year)/Season XX/Episode -SxxEyy.mkv
And this is REGARDLESS of some shows already match
After changing file names, do a FULL plex Dance
So show named myShow from 2016 episode 3 in season 2 should be named:
myShow (2016)/Season 02/SomeThing -S02E03- Maybe Something more [This is ignored since in squere bracket].mkv
I’m renaming them now, but why does that work every other show I have that uses that format and more specifically, why did it work for the other seasons? That doesn’t make any sense.

You were lucky.
About 99% of all issues about shows or movies not showing up or being named incorrectly stems from people wanting to name files in an unsupported way. It hurts to fix all that stuff. It took me months. But you only have to do it once.
FileBot cures bad names in minutes – for the entire library.
Drag / drop - Lookup - RENAME - done
I can do the entire library (movies and TV) in 10-15 minutes.
I agree that I’ve apparently been lucky, but that doesn’t explain why. Luck is never a good explanation for a computer does something.
I’ve been using FileBot and it’s great. I’ll tweak my settings.
I changed the names, did the Plex dance, and it’s still only showing season 2 and season 3.
I tried filebot and I could NEVER get it to work. I’m sure there is some setting in the thing that I don’t have set correctly and I’ve never seen a good tutorial on it.
Here are my renaming rules:
/vie/tv and /vie/movies are my NAS
I preprocess on my NUC and then let FileBot rename and move in one step.
The files end up in the proper place with correct naming. PMS likes this the best.

It never misses.
I just tried this twice, the first time renaming only the first season and then renaming all of the seasons using the helpful naming format from ChuckPa. Still no love on season 1 though.

I think the scanner is programmed in a way where its proper function is guaranteed as long as you use a proper naming scheme described in the docs.
If your naming scheme differs, the results are no longer consistent.
They may or may not be correct. It depends on what your Naming Scheme exactly looks like. To find out exactly why the algorithm produces this result in your special case, you would have to analyze the algorithm flow with your data. But the developers don’t really want to do that, because it’s a lot of work. So instead the answer is that you just were lucky.
I dont like FileBot either. I recommend “Rename My TV Series”.
I have done everything requested, including posting my logs 11 days ago. The first season of The Toys That Made Us is still not showing up and I’ve found a second show now, Beat Bugs, that is showing similar behavior. Any update on this issue? Thanks.
I just got the notification of your post. My apologies for replying so slow.
There’s a problem . You turned off DEBUG logging (probably thinking you’re saving space). Log size is fixed. DEBUG on lets us see what’s happening. With it off, we only get errors – which we can’t diagnose / trace through. Please turn DEBUG back on and keep it on.
I did get to see in your TVDB scanner log where it’s finding season 3. At no point did it even attempt Season 1.
Are you 100% certain that user plex can read the Season directory and files?
Your logs contain nothing for ‘Toys’, but I see a lot of MP4 files. Embedded metadata can really ruin your Covid’19 Lockdown. Do this:

OK, I demoted Local Media Assets, turned on Debug, did the Plex Dance with The Toys That Made Us and Beat Bugs, and then grabbed these logs.
