Only show collections with >2 movies?

Are there any plans to let us limit the minimum number of movies in a collection before it gets collapsed into a collection in the library view?

I like the concept a lot, but to me it does more harm than good in the current implementation. As much as I like the idea of collapsing a big collection like “Star Wars,” it’s not worth it when it puts another hundred movies into single-item “collections” that add nothing but extra clicks to get them playing.

just stop/deactivate automatically populating collections from The Movie Database (library settings > Advanced > Use collection info from The Movie Database).
There’s a post indicating that updating the metadata will then also drop collections received from The Movie Database (haven’t tested this myself).

Beyond that, this post in the tips & tricks section explains where they come from and how to deactivate it:

But I want to use the TMDB collection metadata. It just doesn’t make sense to treat a “collection” containing one item the same as actual collections.

Unfortunately this is fairly tricky to do in a performant way, given the current architecture. We do have the issue filed internally for tracking (in our version it’s > 1 movie, not two).

Thanks for the response. Is there a way to be notified when your internal submission is resolved? I’d love to turn inline collections back on when it no longer displays single-item collections.

There’s not currently, and just to be super clear, it’s filed, but I don’t have any estimate as to when/if this will be scheduled. It’s possible we might instead allow for per-collection settings, but this is also challenging… hence why we’re just tracking the issue at the moment.

I’ll just keep watching the patch notes, then. The way you folks crank out improvements, I’ve got high hopes to see it soon.
