Opening Plex with Non-default Browser

First before I create this topic, I apologize in advance if I am in the wrong thread, it’s an odd request and I wasn’t quite sure what thread is appropriate for this.

Odd as this sounds, I use 2 browsers. 1 being Opera GX for most of my daily crap, 2 Microsoft Edge as I can watch streaming services in higher quality.

My question is, when I go to open up Plex through the taskbar, it will open on Opera, i don’t want this. Is it possible to launch only on Edge? without making it my default. Or maybe someone could help me figure out how to get Opera to play in 4k quality?

If it’s your computer there’s no reason to use any browser.

Install the actual Plex PC app for your operating system. It uses an electron-based version of the web interface but mpv for the playback engine, so practically everything will direct play.

If you are still intent on using a Browser based Plex Web for Admin, I use my non default Browser and have the home page as Plex web.

https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#

As @nx6 said PfW can be used as a Admin Portal.

All browsers I know accept a URL after the binary executable as a command line argument.
So you could create a shortcut on your desktop, start menu, or task bar which contains something like
C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Programs\Opera\opera.exe https://app.plex.tv
