Went to watch something on my Plex and it said server wasn’t found, this was after I was asked which user I wanted to load.
Go to my server, and plex isn’t running. I launch it and it wants to congratulate me and create a new server instance with a new name and all new libraries.
I select my old server name from the menu and it says it can’t find it.
How do I get my old config back?
Are you accessing the web interface through the hosted app at plex.tv/web or through the local app at http://localhost:32400/web or http://127.0.0.1:32400/web
If through the hosted app, please try the local app instead.
Can’t Access Server Settings
In some cases, you may find that the Server entry doesn’t appear for you under Settings in the web app and thus you can’t try to sign in to the Server. This typically occurs when you’re not yet signed in on the Server and you’re using the hosted Plex Web App.
- Load the “local” version of the Plex Web App on your Server computer using http://localhost:32400/web or http://127.0.0.1:32400/web, for instance
- Sign in to the Plex Web App
- Access the Server settings and sign in to the Server
Once you’ve done that, your Plex Media Server should appear when using the hosted Plex Web App, too.

I am using http://localhost:32400/web. It, and any client I try to use to connect to it says it’s unavailable.
Its the same behavior I’ve seen in the past when I’ve rebuilt my server and started over. But in this case, I didn’t rebuild anything it’s just gone.
Let me add, all my log files and everything are still in place so I’m hoping I can just edit something to remind PMS it’s still there.
