Question. I use the other videos option for certain things like Hallmark Movies…I’d rather not put those in the movie folder…so I made an “other videos” library and name in Hallmark Mystery movies. Then just make a playlist from that entire library…But what happens is, say, later on, I want to add another movie to that folder…scan the library…but it doesn’t find anything I recently added (sometimes, not always) sometimes it will find it. It’s like 50/50. I don’t get it. The files don’t have to have perfect naming as they would in the Movie or TV Show library which I rarely ever have issues with that as I use filebot to name…it’s when trying to add anything new to any “other videos” library I’ve created. I can add something, scan all day and it won’t find it…I have to delete the library, clean bundles, empty trash…then create new Hallmark Movies library again and it finds everything…I have to do this every single time I add something…Is this a bug?
My 1st guess would be some weird naming where Plex considers the newly added files to be different quality versions of an existing file in your library (in which case they should show as duplicates).
Maybe this is a silly question… why didn’t you use a regular movie library and call it Hallmark Movies? I guess there’s online metadata available for those, isn’t there?
(I mean not just for troubleshooting)
Honestly…I really am not sure why I didn’t do that (LOL)… Yes, there is metadata…and I actually used filebot to name them anyway - so they are all named properly and obviously differently…so I don’t know…
