Well I’ll be, thank you @Mike202748. Restarted both my HDHomeRun and my Plex box and now it’s working. (I’m guessing restarting the HDHomeRun wasn’t necessary.)

I am not a real technical guy, however, I was on version 1.41.2.9200. I read this section and downgraded to version 1.40.5.8921 as tchaugland suggested. This downgrade resolved all of the ā€œrecording shows issueā€ with Plex. Plex is now working fine.

Does anyone know if the Plex people are aware of this issue? Based on the questions it does not appear they do! Please, let me know if you would, does anyone have any knowledge of Plex’s position on this issue.

For anyone observing the issue reported in this thread please set your logging to debug, reproduce the issue, download your PMS logs, and share your PMS logs. Seems like the issue reported in this thread is different than the link I shared above but without logs :person_shrugging: I have nothing to compare too. Also, this thread is tagged with Roku, is everyone observing this on Roku or is it reproducible on other clients?

I failed to mention in my email to you that my PC is running Windows 11. When the PC was updated to Plex version 1.41.2.2900 the recording issues started.

I downgraded yesterday (11/18/24) to Plex version 1.40.5.8921. Problems with recording shows were resovled.

Please note, there are (4) additional comments in this thread that stated their OS is Windows. They are:

  1. rodhess plex-pass on Oct 13

  3. rbeier3273 Plex Pass Oct 13
  4. corkaust Plex Pass 27d

I’m having the same issue with Live TV not recording Occasionally Live TV will begin looping the same 10-20 seconds over and over then stops and I get a playback error.
I am currently running Plex version 1.41.2.9200

I have had a Plex Pass for 6 years and no issues prior to Sept 2024.
I have HDHomerun Flex Duo and Roku.
I use Roku Ultra, changed it to a Roku firestick and the issue persisted. Does not look like a Roku issue.

11/21/24 UPDATE: I downgraded yesterday (11/20/24) to Plex version 1.40.5.8921. Problem with recording shows seems to have resovled. I will continue to test but keeping fingers crossed.

Thanks for the heads up … I was out of town all week, so I just updated to 9200. Rebooted the PMS and my HDHomeRun Quattro (just in case). I have gotten some ā€œweak signalā€ messages on one or two channels initially, but they seem to be going away. So I’ll give it a hesitant endorsement, but I will come back later if things go sideways. :slight_smile: (I haven’t recorded anything yet)

I’ve been gone for a week for the holidays. I just returned, and my second Roku showed playback errors every 5-10 minutes. @Atomatth, here are my log files reproduced as instructed. I will roll back to 8921, but I can reproduce this again if needed.

:smile: Thanks and sorry for the late response. I think I have as close to your setup (Host OS and CPU, Tuner, Client) as I can get, since your logs is all I’ve got to go on. I’m running PMS 1.41.4.9463 and I’m not seeing playback failures. I’ve had it up and running in the background for a while.

@tchaugland and anyone else on 1.41.4.9463 can I get some fresh logs of observing this issue? Please share you PMS logs and your Roku logs.

The new version took only about 15 minutes to crap out for me. Sent you logs @Atomatth. Tell me if I need to try again.

BTW - this is on a new Roku device, too, that I got for Christmas.
