Own IP behind Proxy, set Remote IP?

Hello together. Simple said I have exactly this problem which is mentioned here and here for example.
I already saw the answers, but I’m not able to get it working. I dont have any certificate on my localhost server, so how is it possible to do this?
Also, this was working until last week on my side. But now I received a new router from my provider and get another public ip than my “private router ip”.

Hope someone can help me, have my plex account more than 5 years and hate to be not able to access it from remote.

Regards

Hello, short update.
Somehow I got it running, but only when enabling remote access? I thought based on tutorials, I need to disable it.

But - I have very fast internet at home. If I use this solution, the bandwith is max at 2mbit. Probably because I use somehow a relay? I am unsure.
On network > Custom Server URL I just entered my IP (http://10.xxx.xx.xxx:32400). Am I doing it wrong?

This IP is a private IP.
You need to enter the IP which is reachable from the outside of your network, if you want to get remote access going.
Which means it must be a routable IP address.

Sometimes you don’t get a routable IPv4 address from your ISP. Which means remote access is impossible.

Thanks for your answer, but I know this and this is a public ip. I even have port 80 with a website open, to see this is working.

An IP which has 10 as its first octet is not a public IP.

The IP you’ve sent me is not accessible to me. Because it is a non-routable address. Private network - Wikipedia

You can access it from inside your home network. But that is not relevant for remote access.

From the looks of it, you are definitely in a “double-NAT” situation.
Whether that is because of your setup (server in a VM or container?) or because of your ISP (Carrier Grade NAT) I cannot discern.

Thanks for investigating, I didnt see what you saw, thanks for that. You are obviously right. If I check my public IP, its definitively another one - but I am not able to access any of my system with the public IP.
I think it is because of my provider but i am unsure. Need to check with them - thanks for the help though!

I just dont unterstand how my plex is working now? But with a slow connection. This almost means it is possible to access my local network from remote, even though I am not able to.

Plex Relay, which is limited to 2mbps.
