Package Source for most updated version of PMS?

If you go to the package center in DSM and click Settings, there is an option for "Package Sources." I'm assuming it allows you to input a custom URL for update sources outside of the Synology servers, which are always a release or two behind where PMS is concerned.

The question is, is there a URL I can input that will always have the latest Intel version of PMS for Synology?

I don't know about "a release or two behind" as the Synology Package Center version tends to be MANY releases behind the bleeding-edge.

The latest Public Releases are here - http://www.plexapp.com/connected/

But you will need to sign up to PlexPass to get access to the bleeding-edge "Special Pre-Releases" of PMS for all supported platforms.

In either case, you then download the latest version to your computer, then do a Manual Install from the Synology Package Center.

Hope this helps you.

Thanks. I already knew how to do a manual install to get the latest public versions  :)

I'm after a link I can use with Synology's "Package Sources" option in the Package Center that would give me inline update capabilities on a more up-to-date basis than whatever repository the Package Center uses by default.

the only "link" in the Synology one - and as you've noticed they are pretty lax at keeping it updated.

Sorry, I was trying to answer everything on the basis of what information was there.

What I think you are looking for really, and please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, is a PMS Repository that can be added to the "Package Sources" area in the Synology Package Center Settings. Thus making new updates to PMS appear in the Package Center in its own section.

I am not currently aware of such a repository, but would be very interesed if anyone knows the address of such thing...?

Ah thanks, Trudge. Guess I'll just have to keep up to date myself for now  :P

Oh it's no problem. Kind of a hard thing to explain, as you can tell. But yes, what you're describing is exactly what I'm after.

Are there any package sources now?

This should help:

With package signing key posted, I am closing this thread due to age. It should have been closed when the forum moved last year.
