I am talking about this specific announcement here, it was posted on this thread by SNAAP-FR who was wondering if it is related. I visited it last night and it seemed like it might be the cause, but there was no mention of Panasonic. Also, I did not get the email that users of the actually listed TVs got at the same time, see the email sent out here - it has the wording I saw in that announcement last night that does not mention Panasonic. And, well, we didn’t get the email. So, yes, I am pretty sure it was added today (see last edit date for the exact time).
To be clear, support HAD officially ended, no new versions were going out, so the app was left on the store as long as it still worked. BUT Panasonic owners were out of the loop about when their service would actually end and the announcement that users of Vizio et al got was edited post-fact.
