does that open the bundled web app using the NAS’ local IP address?
Thanks for your help and responding. Yep, it get’s me to http://[my NAS network address]:32400/web/index.html#! and no sign of the server only only the ‘+Your Media’ which then takes me to where I can download the server software and the ‘More >’ option which doesn’t give me anything either.
The configure button inside the MyCloud Plex App takes me to:
http://10.0.0.42/plexmediaserver/index.php which 404’s as it doesn’t exist.
Going to http://10.0.0.42:32400/web/index.html#! which is the local IP of my PR4100 with a computer hardwired to same router so same subnet gives me “ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED” in Chrome and just times out in Safari or Firefox. In Plex web app it just tells me the server is unavailable and to try again.
Same. No go.
It’s been 5 days and I still can’t access my server. Is there going to be a new Firmware update or something to fix this?
OK I am back up and running.
The only way I have found to do this is to copy all my media and any other data off the My Cloud, do a quick factory reset and then reinstall plex.
Note that this deletes ALL data off your MyCloud and deletes all shared drives…don’t do this unless you have saved your data somewhere else
I have a 40tb My Cloud managing tons of stuff, there’s no way I can wipe the whole thing.
Yep sorry, my library was “only” 7TB so I’ve managed to do it but I had to buy a new external drive to do it. Hopefully they will release a fix, but I didn’t find any other way of doing it.
I’m in the same boat still as well. No access. Server does not show up to be claimed. I have been accessing my movies by going through the stupid WD app instead of Plex. I am a lifetime Plex subscriber - paid in full - and yet I cannot use what I paid for after Plex slipped up and let my information get stolen. Not trying to be a jerk but I expect Plex to fix my issues for me. Not only has their mistake allowed my information to be taken but it has also not allowed me to use what I paid for and taken up hours and hours of my precious time. I would appreciate some sort of workaround or fix for this.
You can check this tutorial - Server credential reset utility for Linux-based platforms . It worked for me.
That’s quite a bit too technical for me. WD w/ Plex being one click plug and play was part of the reason I chose this platform. Hopefully Plex will be able to issue some kind of update to solve the problem they created.
Giving up. Just cancelled my Plex account and am setting up Emby now. So disappointing that after being a loyal Plex customer for over 5 years this is how it ends.
