Password change has killed my PMS on WD PR4100

Server Version#: 1.28.2.6106
Player Version#: 4.87.2

I run PMS on a WD PR4100…since I changed my password I cannot get it to run as a server. I have removed all authorised devices and if I connect to the server using the IP:32400 it doesn’t pop up as an authorised device as a server, it just shows it as the Edge browser.

I have uninstalled and re-installed the software, I have reinstalled the system image to default on the NAS and still no go. It just will not show up as a server…can anyone help!?

I’m not sure I understand what you mean by “it’s not showing up as a server, it just shows as the Edge browser”?!

After you reset your password and signed-out all devices, start signing your devices back in, beginning with the server… open http://[WD MyCloud IP address]:32400/web in a browser while being in the same subnet; then navigate to Settings > [Server Name] > General and click the Claim or Sign In button next to the message that the server isn’t currently claimed

Thanks for the response…so I have 2 media servers, one running on a Windows PC (Media-Server) and one on the WD PR4100 (Media-Server-2). The one on the windows PC shows up fine, I was able to claim it no problem after the password change.

On the WD it doesn’t even show up as a server in the “authorised device” list, when I try to connect on local LAN using (IP):32400 all that shows up on the authorised device list is the browser I am using to connect to the WD with

And on the left hand side all you can see is the Windows server PMS, not the WD one even though I am connecting directly to the WD device

So… what exactly do you get to see if you open the MyCloud’s bundled version of Plex Web?
Are you on the same subnet as the NAS when doing that?

Same thing really…if I install the version of PMS from the WD app store on the device it installs the same version (1.28.2.2106)

Then clicking on configure just opens up a web browser to (IP):32400.

Yep on same subnet as the WD device.

If I open in incongito mode I get the web setup screens but will only show my the windows PMS and a mates PMS shared with me not on the same network…the PMS on the WD just doesn’t appear

Just came here to post about the exact same thing. I have WD PR4100 and everything was working wonderfully yesterday, I got the email last night asking me to change my password which I did and now it can’t connect to the server no matter how many times I logout or back in, restart everything, etc. Also running 1.28.2.6106 on the WD PR4100

Yep is a total pain…have no idea what to try next…even factory resetting the WD hasn’t worked!

I find myself in the same situation as the previous colleagues. There is no way to access the NAS server and no way to claim the server (I understand because it is already claimed) Just step when I reset the Plex password, any administrator who can give us a solution to this problem?

Same issues on 3 separate PR4100 servers.
Tried all of the recommendations and no luck. Also have 3 servers on the PCs which were very easy to get back up.
Appreciate any help or advice thanks.

This actually worked thank you.
I first had to go into pms web and sign in, and remove all web authorized including current session, then once current session expires open my cloud and do as you said.
Worked on all 3 for me. It does ask you to choose your preferred server so you select it. Only at that time are you asked to authorize device. Once done close that window and relaunch pms web. It’s all there!

I did what you said here @Tooncore and now my PMS is completely gone. I can see my friends servers but mine is 100% gone. I can get on my NAS and see all of the files and access them but in Plex they are gone.

Make sure you reclaim your Plex Media Server too… that’s just another device you signed out in the process of changing your password and which needs to be signed back in.

The issue is that it’s just not there to claim.

I’ve now tried resetting NAS system to factory default, uninstalled and re-instaleld PMS multiple times, logged into it with a complete different account and still nothing…it’s like PMS doesn’t recognise it’s running as a server on the NAS so never shows up to be claimed.

Not sure what else to do other than wiping the disks and starting from scratch and see if that helps

You can only reclaim a server using a local connection – that means using the device’s local IP while being in the same subnet. If you’re on a different network or this is a remote NAS, you’ll need to establish a local connection first (e.g. using a SSH tunnel).

Worked for me also

Doesn’t work for me as the server isn’t even listed even though I’m accesing Plex on the server’s network address

Are you on the same subnet?
I assume you haven’t changed your account?

Yep same for me, server just never shows up.

Yes on same subnet…and only change to my account was the password :frowning:

Hi there, yes, same network, the NAS is plugged in to my router and I’ve accessed Plex through the MyCloud Plex App configuration button
