Server Version#: Western Digital MyCloud PR2100 - Plex Media Server 1.26.2.5797 (but I’ve also tried newest with same problem)
I followed the emails advice and logged out of all Plex devices. Reset my password. Logged back in and upgraded my Media Server version as I have done a hundred times. Tried to log back in but nothing connects to my server. So I go to my NAS and click “Configure” and it takes me to Plex web and asks me to log in. I log in and it has the same problem not connecting to the media server (itself). When I click on my shared server on the left it says, “Not Authorized - You do not have access to this server”.
I am beyond livid with this whole thing…
Had the same issue as you (see my last comment on this post and what happened after I re-configured it: MyCloud Home Plex Server disappearing twice recently). I have been having so many issues with the MyCloudHome x Plex set up over the years, it’s very frustrating and if anybody has better alternatives, especially for local/home streaming only, please let me know, I’ll burn my MyCloud hard drive in a heartbeat
I followed someone else’s fix by removing all of the “Authorized Devices” in the settings and then rebooting my WD NAS and going back in. Now my PMS is freaking gone gone. I can only see my friends servers and mine is completely gone. I uninstalled the PMS app on my NAS MyCloud account and reinstalled. Looked all over for support or articles. No idea what happened. My files are all still there and accessible over a computer - as files - but not in Plex at all. No server. No access to see any of my stuff now.
I absolutely love Plex and have not had hardly any issues at all. But now a breach of my information and this absolute cluster afterwards has me pissed. I am banging my head on the wall wondering why I even changed my password in the first place now.
WD PR2100 PMS version 1.28.2.6151-914ddd2b3 Not loading also not loading after password reset.
Try to solve the problem with changes in Preferences.xml (still PMS Offline)
Try to solve by deleting all Plex program files en configuration on WD PR2100 NAS and reinstall
PMS version 1.28.2.6151-914ddd2b3, (still PMS offline)
I’m having the same issue with my Synology and can’t figure anything out. Like the other users here, I can access my files through my computer but not through Plex. Adding the server doesn’t even come up as an option. And this all happened after resetting my password because of the privacy breach. Plex, please figure this out.
So news. ive been having the same issues as you all above. I have a WD PR4100. I deleted the Prefeneces.xml file, then turned the app off, made sure the .xml file was still not there. Gave it 2 minutes and went to the plex local website. It went right to the setup screen. Hope this works for you all but after 2 months of not being able to use my plex server it is now working. I also completely uninstalled the plex server prior to the above steps. I wasnt to worried about losing my info as long as i still had all my video files. Hope this helps you all!
So glad you found a workaround… I would love to do this but am not familiar enough with SSH. My xml preferences file does not appear to be in the “normal” spot putting me in a tough spot to continue.
I just completed pulling one of my mirrored HDDs out and setting it up in my PC. After confirming my existing PR2100 HDD was still working I wiped the other drive and set it up in a PC and copied all the files straight across. I am now going to factory reset my NAS and cross my fingers that its the right move to get Plex up and running again.
Logging into my NAS and running a full reset on it did the trick.
I first took one of my mirrored drives out and formatted it and added it to a PC.
Then I copied all of my files from the remaining hard drive in the NAS to the formatted drive in the PC.
Then I logged into my NAS and ran a full reset. Note: This take hours and hours to do.
I had to do the 40 second paper clip reset as well to get my NAS recognized on my network for some reason but that worked.
Set my NAS back up with preferred settings. Installed PLEX Media Server.
After it was installed I hit configure in my NAS settings for PLEX.
Boom - I was back at the PLEX setup and have successfully been able to re-setup my PLEX server. I am finally starting to see movies again as I move them back from my PC drive to the single NAS drive.
Once the moves are complete I will add the PC drive back into my NAS and it should “rebuild” that drive back up so they are mirroring again.
First I stop the Plex Media Server on PR2100, when stopt delete the PMS app via the web-application of WD. Via SSH connection delete all PMS configuration file Map (Nas-Prog). Restart PR2100 and update OS. Restart PR2100 again conform the OS update. After complete restart of PR2100 install the PMS app for OR210o via Web-application and start configuration via
HTTP// local ip:32400/web. And Yes it is working again. Select/configuratie map by map by selection of al the movies.
