Hi,
I changes my password on my plex account.
After that, my server was not active anymore.
So, i delete it from plex, and now i can’t add it anymore.
When i try to “configure” it from my WDmycloud, i am send to a connexion (1)page and after no configuration is possible (2), plex ask me to download a media server.
To reclaim your server, you need to access it locally, using the machine’s local IP address from with in the same subnet. That means don’t use remotewd.com URLs!
browse to http://[local WD NAS IP address]:32400/web
open Settings > [Server Name] > General
click the Sign In button at the center of the settings page (next to the “This server is unclaimed…” message)
same as above… go through steps 1+2, then in step 3 click Sign Out.
Subsequently sign-out from Plex Web or open Plex Web using an incognito Window; sign in with the correct account and go through steps 1-3 from the original post above.
The account that has my plex server attached to it is a weird new name and has everything set up correctly without my life plex pass.
The account that has my correct name has the life plex pass?
Using this account there is no linked server or unclaimed one?
I am having the exact same problem with my WD PR4100 NAS. I have been working on this since the password change with no solution. If i use http://[local WD NAS IP address]:32400/web, it allows me to claim the server but it does not appear in my list of servers. I can access it as just a drive for adding libraries to my main server but it will not recognize the NAS as a second stand alone server. Any help would be appreciated.
Does this situation persist if you reboot the NAS?
There’s a specific guide to move forward if you’re “locked out” – but from what I remember, you cannot trigger that on a WD MyCloud Home as you’ll need some terminal level access.
@ease01 , @rlazonby : “me too” doesn’t cut it… can you please share some more details as for where you’re getting stuck and what specific steps from the above troubleshooting you’re already done? @ease01 : are you on the same subnet as your NAS and have you verified you’re using the actual device IP (not some WD remote access / DDNS URL)? On the WD PR4100 you should be able to perform the reset procedure if needed → Why am I locked out of Server Settings and how do I get in? | Plex Support
@tom80H
meanwhile I found a solution for my system.
I don’t know if this is working for other systems/configurations.
I worked with ssh and deleting one folder.
I don’t know if I’m allowed to post this, but at the moment my Plex Mediaserver is working fine…
I have tried all of the above steps. My NAS is on the same subnet, I have tried deleting and reinstalling the Plex app on the WD drive. I have used Putty to go in and followed these steps after deleting the app.
My Cloud OS 5 Steps:
cd /mnt/HD/HD_a2/Nas_Prog
rm -rf plex_conf
exit
Rebooted then reinstalled the Plex app onto the NAS.
Use http://[local WD NAS IP address]:32400/web to log in and get the following message.
This application is at Local Address and is not hosted by Plex. Continue only if you recognize this server and wish to grant access… It has either of the two email addresses depending on which was my last sign in and a sign in button. If I log in with either my old account or the new on I just created for testing, no server is available from the NAS but my normal login still shows my desktop server.
When I log in using my normal account, it only shows my desktop server and not the NAS server.
I then repeated the NAS removal process and reinstalled Plex. I created a new account and signed in using the new account and still the device as a stand alone account does not appear as a server. If I try to add libraries, it directs me to get a Plex Server even though it is already running. I then tried following these steps but these only affected my desktop server.
Quit/exit your Plex Media Server, so it’s not actively running
Open the appropriate Registry area (as noted above) to edit
Highlight the following entries and delete them:
PlexOnlineHome
PlexOnlineMail
PlexOnlineToken
PlexOnlineUsername
Still no solution.
My next step is to set up my second PR4100 as a Plex Server starting from scratch and seeing if that will be recognized.
I’m with @ease01 on this. I have a PR2100 and set everything up using Windows but have done very similar steps. Ease01 last posted 2 days ago. Can we get some help on this?
I am on the same subnet. I have updated to the latest PMS build. I have restarted my NAS. But after I changed my password and tried logging in there is no server. I go to settings and no server is available to work with or claim.
