hello i been searching here to find an answer on how to password protect on any libraries or folders you created on plex, because its not safe for any files it can be easily modified or deleted…please help…will it be possible to have this options under advance settings? or is there already a way to do this? please respond…thanks
hello …anyone? request (or another FEATURES)
the only user that can delete ( which you have to intentionally enable ) or modify is you the admin of the server.
lets says two or three different family’s are going to use the server …and we all have the same password on login…
make another account and don’t let them use yours. sharing your server with other accounts is free,
thanks you very much for all fast replies …so do you mean that its possible to create multiple plex accounts in one server? and just link it to a specific
hard drive for example: account “A” is linked to harddrive “A” and account “B” is linked to hard drive B,C & D?
i mean you ( or whomever you plan to share with ) go to plex.tv and create a free account with whatever username and email you want. https://www.plex.tv/sign-up/
then you share whatever libraries on your server that you want with that account(s)
https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/sections/200295083-Server-Sharing
thanks again…i will try (i hope one of the features)that you can lock every folders…
You could also change the permissions on your folders to read only. Plex won’t be able to delete the files then, even if you wanted to.
thanks again…good to here that. ““password on every libraries”” ^:)^ =D>
This is why I would like to have every folder in the library password protected. It will help bypass (remote access or friend invitation and etc)… and point directly to server , to share your main login and password instead of setting up from router, invites and I believe it would be much more easier to set up and also want to have a download disable feature (read only access to whom
i want to share with).

Keep in mind that if you give someone your login and password, they would have the ability to change your user profile (username, email, password). They could also cancel your Plex Pass and even delete your account. This is why we recommend never giving out your login info. It may be a little more hassle to create an account, but it is much safer. You could also set up just 1 account and let everyone you want to give access that account info. Since they are not the admin, they would be read only and could not delete or change anything from your collection.
