2025.23.0 and PIP for LiveTV still does not work.

(Cannot navigate away from app while liveTV Video is playing and maintain stream. No PIP button appears overlaying LiveTV video.)

Same for me, I think some confusion above over the fact that PIP works for file based content playback, however Live TV (OTA) doesnā€™t have a PIP button at all. Someone commented elsewhere that it had been purposefully removed whilst other fixes are underway, however I canā€™t find any offical Plex source for that comment.

Hope it makes a triumphant comeback at some point, I used it quite a bit on iPad.

Iā€™m on 2025.08.0 (1302) using Plex for iOS and PIP does NOT work Live TV. Any suggestions / help?

Same issue on my M4 iPad Pro on iPadOS 18.7.1. It freezes the entire OS for a couple of seconds, I have never seen anything like that (I use iPads since the very first one).

Plex app version 2025.28.0. Reinstalling doesnā€™t fix the issue. One more peculiar thing: it never happens while screen recording is on, hence the handheld video.

Thanks for reports. sounds like same or related to this issue. Bug on iOS and iPadOS - can't swipe up to Home Screen immediately after pausing

Hi @BigWheel ! Many of us are really missing the ability to do PIP with LiveTV ( with HDHomerun tuner). It was broken since the new platform was launched and was later removed and never put back. We sure would appreciate some love for this feature.

This is similar but not quite the same. May be related but picture in picture doesnā€™t even work for live TV while leaving the app up
