Play in original quality missing

Sometimes I miss the play in original quality option when I open a episode of tv show and select the specific option:

I don’t understand why.

A web browser can only play very few video codecs directly. Anything which comes originally in HEVC, or MPEG4 needs tob etranscoded to H.264 in order to be played in web browsers.
If you enable subtitles, and these subtitles are in a bitmapped format (VOBSUB, PGS) transcoding is also the only way to watch these subtitles.

If you want to play more file formats directly, download and install the Plex Player for Windows/Mac or Plex Media Player.
