Play Next Greyed Out + Watched Episodes Not Counting

My device is the Chromecast w/ Google TV 4K for more details.

Ever since this most recent update Plex has been acting up. After watching the first 5 or so episodes in a shows season, Plex refuses to let me to click through to play the next episode once the credits start rolling. Once that starts happening I have to back out to the season screen and play the next episode. On top if that, once that begins for the season episodes don’t get counted towards being watched, so I have to manually check it off so I know what I have already watched. It also doesn’t save the progress in the episode where I left off. And it goes back to normal once I start a new season of a show, and continues, like I said, after about 5 or so episodes.

I have the same ploblem as you described an an android tablet.
At first it looks like a random problem.
After further tests, this problem occurs for me exactly when I stop watching an episode because, for example, I close the tablet for a while. If I then want to continue looking, the next button is grayed out. If I watch the episodes one after the other without a break, everything is ok. It’s not clear to me whether it’s an error in the server or client.
