"Playback Error Multimedia file format not supported"

I have run into the same thing on two samsung tvs. Both with the 1300.3 version of their smart tv software. My user has opted to try a Roku with no problems. Since the plex client is supposed to tell the server what can and cannot be sent to itself, could the plex client be incorrect in what the tv can now render, or if the renderer has been updated at the smart tv level and is incorrectly telling plex that it can render something that it can’t. As everything worked before, I have to believe this is at the samsung software level.

If plex could chime in and provide further information on how the samsung plex app works that might be helpful. If we conclude that the problem is at the samsung level, how do we present the issue to samsung in a way that they might address the issue.

Plex needs to fix all this crap - first it was only samsung 2017 platform, now even brandnew samsung gets multimedia format not… on stuff 40min into a serie or movie - this is really making me angry - no fixes, no reply, just asks and asks for logs - FIX IT!!!

DKdude, I get it, it’s frustrating. But, you might want to have a beer and watch a mindless movie. Something to relax with. May I suggest one of my faves - Evolution.

Have not forgotten about this but have not figured it our yet. sorry for not replying previously.

the more folks who can provide server logs with debug enabled and logging to sever enabled in the app (debug only, not verbose) hten reproduce and get server logs. may be able to compare them to see the commonality and see what is going on.
