Samsung Q7F TV keeps erroring. ‘Playback error - Multimedia file format not supported’
(I know they are supported as a month ago it was playing these files fine)
- Insecure network settings are set to always on TV app, and preferred in server
- Tried with and without direct playback selected
- Tried reinstalling TV app.
- Tried with and without direct streaming and playback
- Done a full wipe on TV (Smart TV is up to date)
- Not related but server has been moved to a new machine ( some part of me hoped this might solve it!)
Internet speeds are not the issue as playback is fine on Phone and laptops. Including other users. Playback on other streaming services are at 4K, on my network and server’s network.
My TV is not on the same network as server.
Plex app loads and runs fine, until selecting file. Then lags, either buffers or black screens. Scan bar and file info does pop up if made, so device isn’t frozen. Then error always pops up. After this happening the Plex app is incredibly laggy.
It’s not just MKV files as well MP4 are also affected. ( I only state this as when this happened to me in the past MP4 files still worked. This was resolved by updating insecure connections to always)
Attached (I hope) is the log of me trying to play a MKV and MP4 file on the TV.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
