I can confirm that the 7.23.0.12806-beta client fixes H264 playback on Insignia Fire TVs. In addition to my TV, my mom’s Insignia TV is working after I sideloaded the beta. The version available in the Amazon App Store does not work, but the beta does. You can download it here: Release Announcements - Android TV beta.
