Playback issues on TCL TVs

It seems like after the latest update I’ve been having numerous issues playing back on two separate TCL smart TVs. When starting a video, it takes a minute to buffer and randomly afterwards it buffers a few times and then errors out saying the connection to the server is not fast enough.

I tried throttling the quality all the way down to 2Mbps but no difference.
I also tried falling back to the Plex Retro channel but the same thing happens.

I then took my Roku stick from another room, plugged it into the TV and it plays almost instantly with no buffering or errors.

This happens on a TCL 48FS3750 and also a TCL 32S3800.

Is this a known issue or anything else I can try?

Just came here to say I’m experiencing the exact same problem. Brand new 4-series 65".

Resolved my own issue. Poor wifi connection. The new TV blocked the wifi signal more than the old one, moving the router fixed it. Working great now.
