Playback keeps stopping

Hi, first time I’ve ever posted so apologies if this isn’t the best place for this.

I have a raspberry pi 4 set up as a Plex server. It’s been solid for a couple of years playing 1080 content, but recently whatever I try and play I get about 10-15 minutes in and it just stops and throws me out. It’s like it just stops buffering and freezes. It doesn’t matter how long I leave it the playback won’t resume. The only fix is rebooting the pi but doing that every 15 minutes is painful.

The pi isn’t throttling or overheating or anything, and I’m not playing any sort of content is not been fine with before. It’s all h264 stuff. I have transcoding off so it’s direct play only but it still won’t play a full file of anything. As far as I’m aware I’m on the latest version of everything. I’ve tried multiple files and the issue remains.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Server log files will help. Someone familiar with running Plex on a Pi can take a look and assist.

  1. Make sure your server is set for debug level logging (default level).
    Settings → Server_Name → General (Show Advanced)

  2. If you change the log level, reboot the system.

  3. Play a movie/show/etc to recreate the problem.

  4. Reboot the Pi.

  5. Wait 2 - 3 minutes for the server to fully start and the logs to capture everything.

  6. Pull the log files and post to the thread.
Settings → Troubleshooting → Download logs
Attach the ZIP file to the thread. Drag it into the message window. It will insert at the cursor location.

Thank you I will try this and report back.
