I believe this has been an issue since I first got a lifetime plex pass in Nov/2018. I got a refund back then due to the EPG not updating properly for more than a month, making the DVR useless.
I recently got a plex pass again and tried out the DVR a little over a week ago. During that week, I had the following problems:
- got strange message while watching a live recording from the beginning. After that, there was no way to watch and had to wait for recording to finish before I could watch.
- tried to record AGT on a particular channel and it simply would not go into the recording schedule (although, it would schedule if I selected another poorer quality channel). And I don’t need a tutorial on how to use it. There is some sort of bug or problem with the EPG.
- guide stopped updating with new content for 5 days
I have uninstalled the DVR feature since it is still complete trash. So I am unable to provide logs. I expect it will be at least 6 months before I will have the patience to try the Plex DVR again, assuming that the forums don’t suggest that it is still complete trash.
I have gone back to NextPVR which is completely reliable (even though it might not look as pretty). It has a far more flexible/reliable scheduler to handle common situations that plex will not handle. And it allows for manual recordings if the EPG doesn’t update for some reason (which never actually happens).
