Playback of active recording issues

Server Version#:1.19.5.3035 MacOS 10.15.5
Player Version#: Any, mainly TVOS 13.4.8. Not in front of TV but will get Plex TVOS version number.

Lots of errors when attempting to playback shows during live recording. I’ve tried playback at original but still no change. Suggestions?

  • 30 second skip doesn’t work, jumps to end of show
  • Audio sync issues
  • May not ever restart playback after pausing

Can we get some logs from the client and server after reproducing this, please?

See attached. Its not skipping to live today, but very very long pauses. Also the last few 30 second skips did not actually skip, just continued to play same commercial.

Hi @prophoto, I’ve spent about an hour trying to reproduce these issues on my setup, with no success.

Can you please send client logs after reproducing this on Apple TV?

Sure! How do I get logs from a certain period? Last night I played via my Apple TV and it was FUBAR. It was last night from about 830-930pm.

Edit, reading your article looks like it doesn’t log by default. Is there anything I can grab for you before setting up the special logging from the article you have shown?

Nothing special, just set it up, trigger the issue, and then send me the logs. :slight_smile:

Hopefully they’ll tell me a bit more of how I can diagnose the issue.

While watching first show I couldn’t get it to do it at all. Second show started recording. Started playing it at about 10 minutes in and it did it. Went back to PREVIOUS show and started at the beginning instead of FF 10 seconds.

Sorry for not getting back to you @prophoto. That last message about consecutive recordings really helped!

I think this is related to another issue that I’ve been tracking for a while, and it’s definitely on my radar. It’ll be addressed as soon as possible and included in a future update.

Sorry this is taking a while, but DVR issues are somewhat tricky to debug :sweat_smile:
